ANTARIS 5.5 kW Wind Turbine Begins Operation in Germany
A 5.5 kW ANTARIS wind turbine manufactured by BRAUN Windturbinen GmbH has entered grid-parallel operation in Hesse, Germany, adding small-scale renewable generation capacity.
According to the manufacturer's October 14 announcement, the three-phase turbine is operating alongside the electricity grid. The exact location, project cost and expected annual generation were not disclosed.
The ANTARIS 5.5 kW model features a brushless, gearless permanent-magnet generator and a control system that monitors generator and grid phases.
BRAUN Windturbinen highlighted wind power's potential to complement solar generation during periods of reduced sunlight, particularly in autumn and winter.
The installation represents a small-scale distributed energy resource (DER) rather than a utility-scale wind project. Its grid connection relates to broader DER integration requirements and the electrical behavior of distributed generation.
The manufacturer has not reported site electricity consumption, power export volumes or measured operational performance, limiting assessment of the installation's contribution to local electricity supply.
