Eaton and Autodesk Launch AI-Powered Digital Energy Twin for Buildings and Data Centers

19 Sep 2025
Eaton, a global intelligent power management company, has announced a collaboration with Autodesk to accelerate digital transformation in building and data center infrastructure. The partnership introduces AI-powered digital energy twin technology and new software tools designed to enhance lifecycle management, improve energy efficiency, and support sustainability goals.

The collaboration integrates Eaton's Brightlayer Digital Energy Twin with Autodesk Tandem, enabling designers, contractors, and building operators to simulate, monitor, and optimize energy performance. The technology allows facility managers to predict how systems will operate under different conditions, assess the impact of upgrades, and reduce operational costs.

According to Justin Carron, director of buildings and campuses at Eaton, the collaboration introduces new capabilities that fundamentally change how electrical systems are designed, built, and operated. He highlighted the role of combining energy insights with advanced visualization and simulation tools.

Robert Bray, vice president and general manager of Autodesk Tandem, emphasized that the integration gives building operators tools to move from reactive to predictive strategies, unlocking greater resilience and efficiency.

In addition, the collaboration introduces a new building information modeling (BIM) generation application for Autodesk Revit, allowing design and engineering professionals to dynamically create BIM files for electrical systems. This aims to streamline pre-construction planning and provide a digital foundation for long-term building management.

The new technologies were highlighted at Autodesk University, where Eaton presented how digital energy twin tools can improve operational outcomes through predictive maintenance and smarter energy management.
