PP Control & Automation and TES Partner on UK Grid Projects
PP Control & Automation and Transmission Engineering Services (TES) have partnered to combine protection and control engineering, manufacturing and testing services for UK electricity infrastructure projects.
The agreement brings together TES’s expertise in protection and control panel design with PP C&A’s manufacturing and factory acceptance testing capabilities. The model has already been used on a National Grid project in North Yorkshire.
Tony Hague, director of PP Control & Automation, said the UK’s grid expansion required improvements to the supply chain. The partnership, he said, would provide “important capacity and speed to market” and identify production issues earlier through a “design for completion” approach.
The companies estimate the collaboration could generate more than £10 million in opportunities over the next two years. TES project engineer Dominic Cummings said: “Capacity is also determined by how effectively work moves through phases.”
TES works on high-voltage substations and is NERS-accredited up to 132 kV.
