WRS Plans 2027 Texas Solar Recycling Facility

We Recycle Solar (WRS) plans to launch a commercial-scale solar panel recycling facility in Texas in Q3 2027, targeting recovery of up to 96% of the silver, copper, silicon, aluminum and glass contained in end-of-life panels.

The 10-acre facility outside Dallas will use WRS’s proprietary process to handle one panel per minute and recover materials entirely in the U.S., eliminating offshore downstream processing.

The project aims to strengthen domestic critical material supply chains, particularly for silver, which is used across solar, electronics, AI infrastructure, defense and the power grid.

“Solar panels contain the exact critical materials the U.S. supply chain desperately needs,” said Adam Saghei, founder and CEO of WRS.

The company plans to invest approximately $100 million over four years to develop four additional U.S. facilities, creating a distributed recycling network for commercial and utility-scale solar assets.
