Rezolv energizes 192 MW VIFOR wind farm in Romania
Rezolv Energy has energized the 192 MW first phase of the VIFOR Wind Farm in Buzău County, with the project now supplying electricity to Romania’s national grid. It is the country’s largest new wind project energized in more than a decade.
Phase 1 comprises 30 Vestas V162 EnVentus turbines, each rated at 6.4 MW, with 166-meter towers and 162-meter rotor diameters. Vestas served as engineering, procurement and construction contractor. The project also includes a new 400 kV substation supporting renewable energy integration.
Phase 2 will add 269 MW by 2027, bringing VIFOR’s total capacity to 461 MW.
“Rezolv was established to be a leader of the energy transition across Southeastern Europe, so it’s a proud moment to be energizing Romania’s largest new wind project in more than a decade,” said Alastair Hammond, CEO of Rezolv Energy.
Romania’s expanding renewable generation includes more than 3 GW of installed wind capacity, with a 7.3 GW target by 2030.
